IGNは、以下のように述べています。
Wiiリモコンに関する大きい質問のうちの1つは、それが動く方法でした。
リモコンのポインターがゲームで使われているならば、およそ30時間動きます。加速度センサーのみが利用されていれば、それは60時間動きます。
センサバーと共に使用するポインター機能は、多くの電力を消費するようで、使用していると意外と早く電池が消耗していきます。そこで、Wiiリモコンには電池の残りの容量を表示する機能がつくようです。
Wiiリモコンの下部にある4つのLEDには、Wiiとの通信状況を示す以外に、もう1つの役割があります。それは、バッテリ寿命を示すことです。
リモコンの電源を入れた時、即座に、4つのLEDのいずれかが点滅します。
容量が75％以上の時に4つ、50％～75％の時は3つ、25％～50％の時は2つ、25％以下の時は1つ、それぞれ点滅します。
ちなみに、GCの無線コントローラ「ウェーブバード」は、同じく単三アルカリ2本で100時間動作しますので、Wiiリモコンはそれに比べると物足りなさそうです。
プレイ中に突然コントローラが使えなくなったりしないためにも、LEDを確認して早めに電池を交換するのが良いようです。
