海外のゲーム情報サイトGo Nintendoによると、噂されているWii U本体のスペックは以下の通りです。
一般的には、コア数が多くなるほど処理能力は向上しますが、同時に消費電力も増加します。この辺りのバランスの取り方は、各社の考え方によって特徴が出る部分です。
ちなみに「4コア」とは、演算処理を行う”コア”が4つ搭載されているという意味で、「スレッド」とは1つの”コア”が同時に処理できる仕事（演算）の数です。8スレッドは、単純に荒く説明すると「8つの仕事を同時に処理できる」ということになります。
ちなみにWiiのCPUはシングルコアで768MHzと言われていますので、「Wiiよりも20倍高速」との表現にもある通り、処理能力は大幅に向上しています。
ただ、冒頭でも書いた通り噂ですのでご留意ください。ソフトの噂はE3で大体の真相が明らかになりますが、スペックに関しては任天堂からは発表されない可能性が高いため、なかなか証明も難しいですね。
