印刷用ページ Nintendo of Americaは、年末商戦でのWii U/ニンテンドー3DS/Wii/ニンテンドーDSの販売状況について発表しました。
米国の市場調査機関NPDの集計によると、Wii U本体の2012年12月の米国での販売台数は46万台とのこと。発売からの累計は89万台になりました。また、Wii U本体の販売金額は3億ドルを超え、Wiiの2億7000万ドルを上回りました。
任天堂ハード全体での2012年12月の販売台数は計265万台以上になりました。また、任天堂ハードの年間販売台数は、11年連続で800万台を上回ったとのこと。以下、各ハードの販売状況です。

- 「NewスーパーマリオブラザーズU」の累計販売本数は58万本、装着率は65％
○ニンテンドー3DS
- 2012年12月の3DS本体の販売台数は125万台、累計では770万台に
- 「Newスーパーマリオブラザーズ2」が米国で4番目のミリオンセラーに。累計販売本数は145万本
- 3DS本体の売り上げは、現在でもニンテンドーDSを上回るペースで売り上げている
○Wii
- 2012年12月の販売台数は47万5000台、累計は4080万台に
- Ubisoftの「Just Dance 3」は、米国で累計500万本以上を売り上げた10番目のWiiソフトになった
