日本向けのサービスでは、「Gガイド」を用いて電子番組表を閲覧したり、様々な条件で検索したりといった機能が提供されます。
また、GamePadをTVリモコンのように使用できる機能についてですが、発表によるとニンテンドーeショップにて有料追加コンテンツとして提供されるとのこと。価格は100円となっています。

この内容だと、テレビコントロールのリモコン機能自体が有料に見えてしまいます。
ＧａｍｅＰａｄをテレビリモコンとして使う機能は基本機能で、無料です。
有料なのはＮｉｎｔｅｎｄｏTViiの番組表からチャンネルを切り替える機能です。
