米国では現地時間9月13日にWii U関連のプレスイベントが開催されることから、日本など他地域でも同様のイベントが開催されるのではと予想されていました。しかし岩田社長によると、日本でのWii Uの発表は「カンファレンス以外の方法で行う」予定であるとのこと。
