印刷用ページ ソフトウェアビデオコーデック「Mobiclip」などを展開するモビクリップ株式会社は、2011年10月より任天堂グループ傘下に入ったことを発表しました。
モビクリップ株式会社が展開する「Mobiclip」は、様々なハードウェアで高品質な動画再生を実現するためのソフトウェアビデオコーデックで、ニンテンドーDSやニンテンドー3DSでも様々なソフトで採用されています。
モビクリップ株式会社の発表によると、「2011年10月より任天堂グループとして新たに出発することとなりました」とのこと。今後は任天堂プラットフォームに対応したソフトウェア開発に注力するとしています。
なお、今回の買収により「Mobiclip Middleware」「VX Middleware」といった同社のオープンOS対応組み込み製品は販売を終了し、今後はサポートのみとなります。
